Proposition 8, is the overturning of the California Supreme Court to allow Gay marriage. In July when Gay marriage was passed, the Church read a letter during Sacrament urging returned missionaries to knock door in support of Prop 8. During my mission I loved knocking doors. I love the boldness it requires, I love the unexpectedness, I love the improvision requried. Any of my old companions would confirm that I loved doing ''house.'' In support of Prop 8 I have; knocked doors, distributed yard signs, waived signs on the side of the road. I have never been treated so demeaningly. I have been spit on, berated by stranges, and have been called a biggot by the opposers of Prop 8. Others in my church have had bleach thrown at them, been chased by people on foot, and have been threatened with bombs. Despite all of this, I love Election time and I love the democracy we are. Our political system, while one of the youngest is one of the most stable and unwaivering. I appreciate this so much, living abroad and dating foreigners has proven to me how great our democracy is!
I am so excited as I know for whom I am voting!
