My day, I mean date with a screenwriter - it all seems the same
I love to travel. Many of my relationships have started as I was traveling. In the last year there has been Brian. He was a great guy I met while traveling to Atlanta. We were both living in Columbus and dated for a few months after that day on the plane. I met Nickj in Victoria Station in London. We were taking the same train up North. A long distance relationship commenced between us from London to Pisa and from Pisa to London. So, naturally while traving home from Italy I expected, okay half-expected to meet someone. Well, I did. I met a screenwriter also traveling to Los Angeles. We journeyed together from Dublin all the way to Los Angeles. A relationship commenced and I was starstruck. He knew celebrities, but not only the superficial stuff that I did (I must state I am an avid People magazine reader and know a great deal about celebrities) But he knew more and he knew more personal info. At first this was so great, I loved hearing the interesting details about Tom and Katie Cruise's wedding to his last dinner with Criss Angel and Cameron Diaz. But after a couple of days, this was all we ever talked about. He was constantly name dropping and our conversations were limited to Gwyenth's home in London and the Venice film festival (the second time he met Brad and Angelina.). I would have dreamed earlier to meet and date a screenwriter and be wisked by someone who was in tap with celebrities like he was but in the end I am actually sick of celebrities. Shockingly, I have no desire for the third date. From my day with him on the plane to my dates with him in California it all seems like the same day. A constant Groundhog Day experience. It just shows me yet again my fantasies are not all what I dreamed them to be.

It bugs me when people try and do the name drop thing as if it makes them more important because they know famous people.
